Every homeowner who calls us has already looked at a few custom closet ideas online and has a rough idea of what they want. What most people haven't figured out yet is what actually drives the price of a closet design project, how long it really takes, and which materials hold up in a South Florida home versus which ones don't.
Before you sign anything — with us or anyone else — here's what we tell every client during their first consultation, so you can walk into the custom closet process knowing exactly what to expect.
Closet pricing varies more than people expect, mostly because "custom closet" covers everything from a few added shelves to a fully bespoke, designer-finish walk-in. These ranges are starting points, not ceilings — the final number comes down to your design choices:
| Project Type | Typical Starting Range | What Drives the Price |
|---|---|---|
| Reach-in closet update | $500 – $1,500 | Size, number of shelves/drawers, door style |
| Walk-in closet — standard finish | $5,000 – $7,500 | Square footage, drawer boxes, lighting, accessories |
| Walk-in closet — premium design | $10,000 – $20,000+ | Custom islands, premium hardware, specialty finishes, integrated lighting design |
| Multi-closet / whole-home project | Custom quote | Number of rooms, finish level, timeline |
Because everything is designed and built in-house, the range is wide by design — you're not limited to a catalog tier. Your free 3D design shows the real cost for exactly what you want before anything is built.
From your first consultation to the day of installation, most custom closet projects run 4 to 6 weeks — not because anyone is dragging their feet, but because real manufacturing takes real time. Here's what happens in that window:
We measure your space in person and talk through how you actually use it.
Day 1You see and approve the exact layout before anything is cut.
Week 1Built at our own Coral Springs facility — no third-party factory in the mix.
Weeks 2–5Our own crew installs it — most projects wrap up in 1–2 days.
Week 5–6
This is the step most DIY closet design projects get wrong, and it's the reason so many pre-made kits end up returned or reworked. A few things worth knowing before you grab a tape measure:
Door swing eats more space than you think. Closet and bedroom doors both need clearance — a system that looks fine on paper can block a door in real life.
Ceiling height changes what's possible up top. South Florida homes vary a lot here — some can fit a full third shelf tier, others can't without custom step stools.
Outlets and light switches aren't always where you'd guess. We map these during the in-person consultation so the design works around them, not against them.
"Inventory first, layout second." Most closets fail because they're built for a wardrobe about 30% smaller than what actually needs to fit. Count your hanging items, folded items, and shoes before designing anything.
South Florida's humidity averages around 73% year-round and climbs to 80–90% in summer. That matters more for a custom closet than most people realize — the wrong material warps, swells, or delaminates within a couple of years in this climate, regardless of how good it looks on install day.
Not every "custom closet" company designs and builds their own product. Many outsource manufacturing to a third-party factory and just handle sales and install — which adds a markup layer and a longer back-and-forth if something needs to change. You can see how we work on our How It Works page.
| Typical Reseller / Catalog Model | CCF (In-House) |
|---|---|
| Design sent to outside factory for approval | Designed and built at our own Coral Springs facility |
| Changes require a new round with the factory | Adjustments handled directly, no middleman |
| Install often subcontracted | Installed by our own crew |
| Pricing includes reseller markup | You pay for the product, not the middleman |

If a full walk-in or multi-room project doesn't fit into a single payment, financing through Synchrony is available so the work can start without waiting to save the full amount upfront.
Synchrony is a third-party credit processor, not a CCF lending partner. Financing is subject to credit approval.
Yes — we measure the actual space and talk through how you use it, which is hard to do accurately from photos alone.
Minor adjustments are usually possible before manufacturing starts. Once fabrication begins, changes get harder — this is why we review the 3D design carefully with you upfront.
Yes — our factory is based in Coral Springs, but we design, build, and install across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach County.
Free in-home consultation, free 3D design — no obligation, no middlemen.
